DD Tournament Poker Software FAQ

Q1. Can I install the game on two computers, for example my laptop and desktop or home computer and work computer?

A1. Donohoe Digital has one of the best license policies in the industry as compared to other software vendors. Although you are allowed to play only one at a time, our license permits you to install the game on two computers, like your home computer and a work computer. In fact, the two computers can be different types (e.g., one can be a Mac and the other Windows). If you wish to install on more than 2 computers or play one another over a LAN, please buy additional copies of the product so we can continue to innovate with new features. Also note, version 2 requires a unique activation number for each copy when playing online or LAN.

Q2. Does DD Poker support LAN/Internet play?

A2. Yes, DD Poker 2 now supports LAN/Internet play.

Q3. What platforms does the game run on?

A3. Windows 98/2000/Me/XP, Mac OS X (10.3 and higher) and Linux.

Q3. Where can I purchase the game?

A3. You can purchase a download version through our Order page.

Q4. Is the game written in Java?

A4. Yes, we are using Java 1.5 (Windows/Linux) and Java 1.4.2 (Mac) as the primary platform for the game.

Q5. Is the game distributed as a standalone executable or does it require an external Java VM (virtual machine) to run?

A5. On the PC and Linux, the game is distributed as a standalone, complete executable and will not require an external VM.  It is installed with a typical installer and launched from the Start menu or desktop. The normal game player will not be aware or need to know about the use of Java or a particular JVM.

On the Mac, the game is installed using a typical installer and launched from the Applications folder like any other Mac application.
